The Lounge Room Collector Series explores the extraordinary, eclectic, and sometimes surprising private collections of the New England region.

While women have traditionally occupied the space of working with textiles and fibre crafts, often seen and accepted as ‘women’s work’, a growing number of queer and/or non-binary artists are embracing and claiming these techniques and materials for their practice.

The artists in this exhibition share intimate relationships (mother/son, husband/wife, mother-in-law/daughter-in-law) while also sharing a commitment to the environment and to social justice in their arts practice.
