Our library collections support the Gallery’s Collection, exhibitions and programs and includes:
- monographs on art
- catalogues of art exhibitions
- journals devoted to art
An important part of the library collection consists of books donated by Howard Hinton to the Armidale Teachers’ College between 1929 and 1948. This material provides a comprehensive snapshot of what was available on art in book form at the time of these donations.
The Howard Hinton Archive contains both personal reminiscences of Howard Hinton – letters, diaries, poems, – and historical documents surrounding the bequest – records of previous owners, valuations, and exhibition histories.
The NERAM Historic Archive contains documents originating from the creation of the museum in 1983 and following the major developmental milestones from the past to the present.
The Library’s collection can be searched online via the Howard Hinton Research Library Catalogue. Access to the library collections is by appointment only.
