NERAM recently won the Sustainabilty Award at the Armidale Business Chamber’s Annual Awards which were announced on Friday 21 July 2017.
“This is a great recognition of the work that we have been doing to make NERAM into a financially and environmentally sustainable organisation,” said Robert Heather, Art Museum Director, accepting the award at the event. “We believe that sustainability makes good business sense.”
“Over the past few years we have implemented a number of changes including replacing exhibition lights with LED fittings, installing solar power and other practical measures which are improving our energy efficiency and making real savings on costs.”
“We aim to embed sustainability within the organisation through our strategic planning, facilities planning and day-to-day operations.”
NERAM will also soon be embarking on a S-CORE sustainability audit as part of its ongoing improvements in this field.
