This Sunday, 30 October 2011 between 11am and 3pm, the New England Regional Art Museum is offering a day of fabulous art activities including edible art. A collaboration between Friends of NERAM and theNew England Regional Art Museum, the Great ArtPlay Day is an opportunity for local families to enjoy a range of creative activities for all ages and collaborate with local artists.
On offer will be storytelling, jewellery making, masks, tactile fun, kite making, painting and sculpture. After you’ve worked up an appetite creating your masterpiece, enjoy making a sandwich face, fruit creature or decorating a yummy cupcake to eat. There will also be a sausage sizzle and coffee van.
Tickets are from $3 and are available at the door. There’s something for everyone, from preschoolers to grandparents. Make something on your own or get together with family and friends to collaborate on a joint venture.
There will also be free activities on offer including chalk drawing outside on the concrete, pencil drawings in the gallery and glove balloons. Buskers from the New England Conservatorium of Music will be there to accompany the art activities.
We invite the local community to spend a day at NERAM to learn more about this wonderful institution; play and create with family, friends and local artists and make a connection that will last a lifetime.
