Two new exhibitions are opening this Friday.  All are welcome.

In May 2013, NERAM invited students and artists participating in the regular weekly art classes in NERAM’s Packsaddle Studio to contribute works for a Postcard Exhibition, to coincide with the Australian Garden History – 2013 National Conference, in Armidale (17-21 October 2013).

Students were asked to use the theme, ‘Gardens with Altitude’, as their inspiration when creating their artworks, and to adhere to a number of criteria. Students’ artworks were to be no larger than the size of a postcard, students could only contribute up to three artworks each and, each artwork must be for sale.

Opening alongside Gardens with Altitude will be Calm Before the Storm by Isabelle Devos.  For the past ten years, Armidale resident Isabelle Devos has been interpreting what she sees with the eyes of an artist, creating paintings of mostly New England landscapes and townscapes. Calm Before the Storm is a new group of paintings created over the past 15 months, all colourful works that give a sense of quiet and mysteriousness.
