This is an exhibition of work created during Arts North West’s regionally coordinated mentorship program entitled Art Relay – Pass it On!
The exhibition also launches the newly formed artist collective, Cut Diamond Aboriginal Artist Collaboration.
Arts North West developed the mentorship program for emerging Aboriginal visual artists to empower participants with the information, skills and confidence to grow their art practice. The program encourages the sharing of knowledge and skills from experienced artists to newer artists – passing the baton so that our region and our artists are richer and more in touch with each other.
The artwork that has come out of this process is now touring the region as a travelling exhibition.
Exhibiting artists are:
- Christine Dumas (Boggabilla)
- Deborah Knox (Boggabilla)
- Julie Craigie (Tamworth)
- Megan Naden (Tamworth)
- Megan Porter (Tamworth)
Their mentors have been Kylie McNamara (Moree), Peter Mulcahy (Permona) and Becci Zillig (Byron Bay).

This project was made possible by the Australian Government’s regional arts program, the Regional Arts Fund, which gives all Australians, wherever they live, better access to opportunities to practice and experience the arts.
