A pozible project
On 13 October 2013, NERAM will host the ‘Armidale Big Birthday Bash’. There will be stalls, art activities, great food and music, and heaps of fun for families and arty types. Our plan is to promote creative, sustainable, reuse and recycling of ‘rubbish’ and to have a fun community ARTplay day. All activities will be themed around principles of sustainability, care for the environment and creativity. There will also be tours of the Armidale Community Garden and Museum of Education, along with a ‘Waste to Art’ exhibition, and live music to follow at the popular Black Gully Music Festival on the reserve behind the museum.
To add to the atmosphere of this great community event, we want to have a giant projection on the outside wall of the museum, showing all the fantastic works from our art collection! We have 2000 works that we want to project, and its going to cost over $5000. That’s $2.50 an artwork, so we really need everyone’s help to reach our target. We are running a novel fundraising project that utilises the power of online ‘crowdsourcing’. Crowdsourcing works by inspiring people to give small donations that together add up to make something amazing happen. It might be a music project, a community event, or the launch of a book. By grouping together, people can get behind great events and ideas, and see their contribution become part of something much bigger.
For our special Pozible Project, supporters can offer as little as $5 as a pledge towards the project, with each donor supporting the projection of a minimum of two artwork projections. And the joy of Pozible crowdsourcing? If the project doesn’t reach its $5000 target, then no one will pay a cent. Pozible donors are making a pledge, so the project will only go ahead if the target is reached, and there is no cost to donors until they do. But we hope that doesn’t happen and that all pledge-making donors will join in the fun on the day and see their name or business logo, alongside the artworks projected.
