Animals that run, hop & slither come in all shapes and sizes, from field mice to elephants, kangaroos to grasshoppers, and snails to snakes.
They can have two legs or four, none at all or a hundred more. They can have feathers or fur, scales or skin, or horns or hair. They can have spots or stripes, shells as hard as armour or wings as light as a feather.
Some have necks taller than the body of most humans and others can grow as long as 30 people lying end to end.
Some can go without water for 2 weeks and others can go without food for 3 months. Some animals can run as fast as a car on the highway or travel as slow as the grass grows Some can see in the dark while others can hear things from miles away.
They can live underground or in the treetops, on an iceberg or in the jungle, in the hottest desert or in the wettest places on earth.
Some only live a week and others can live twice as long as most humans.
They can climb mountains or swim rivers, swing between trees or slither under doors…and a whole lot more!
